I am a (very) amateur violin player with a particular interest in film music (I play with the Enfield Film Orchestra). I started composing only in middle age, with no previous composing experience. It’s been a steep learning curve but an incredibly rewarding one and the feedback from the other members of the LCF has been instrumental in my progression. My solo violin piece, “My Eyes Ache, Yet I Dare Not Close Them” was performed in the virtual LCF concert, “HOMEWORK”. My piece for clarinet consort was performed in 2021 and will have an orchestral piece performed later this year. In 2022 I was a semi-finalist in the Cipriani Competition for film composition.
